Answers to what travellers ask most. Can’t find yours? Write to us.

Will WhatsApp keep my number?

Yes. Your physical SIM stays in the phone, so WhatsApp, iMessage and your bank’s text messages keep your usual number. SoonLanded only carries the data.

When do the days on my plan start?

When the eSIM first connects to a network in your destination. Buying it or installing it early does not use any days.

When should I install it?

A day or two before you fly, on Wi-Fi. You need a connection to download the eSIM, and the airport is not where you want to find that out.

Does it include calls and texts?

No, plans are data only, with no local number. Calls on WhatsApp, FaceTime or Telegram work over the data. Calls to your usual number still go through your home carrier.

Can I share data with my laptop?

Yes. Hotspot works on every plan, and it counts against the same data allowance.

What if I run out of data?

Top up from your account in under a minute. The new data goes onto the eSIM you already have, so there is no new QR code to scan.

What if it doesn’t connect?

Check that data roaming is on for the SoonLanded line, then restart the phone. Still nothing? Message us from the contact page. If we can’t get you online, we refund the plan.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, in full, if the eSIM was never installed and you ask within 30 days of buying it. Use “Request refund” on that eSIM in your account.

How do I know my phone takes eSIM?

Dial *#06#. If an EID shows, it does. You can also check your model on the home page.
